Is there a setup fee?
There are three things that people buying online hate to pay:
- Sales tax
- Shipping
- Setup Fees
I know I do. I can't help you with the first two but here's my perspective on setup fees from both sides of the fence.
From the buyer's point of view, they present a huge barrier. Who wants to pay hundreds of dollars for a setup fee when the product or service may not work out as promised?
For instance, I recently asked to see some sample screens and reports before signing up for a $45 per month online service.
I was told I could only do that if I paid the $395 (non-refundable) setup fee. Guess what I decided to do.
But I also understand why other bid management companies charge $400-1500 up front.
On average, I spend 12-20 hours on extensive keyword research, ad writing etc. before a single keyword bid is ever placed.
Even though these very important tasks are expensive and critical to the ultimate success of your ad campaign, I decided to treat them as my investment in your long term success.
